Entering Executive Search consultancy in 1983, he subsequently established Carew Smith International, which has successfully grown into a leading headhunter focused on the international consumer industries with an impressive portfolio of market leading clients in consumer, retailing and service sectors.

An accomplished, business solutions orientated, hands-on deliverer, his market insight led the company to develop its international capability in line with the ever-increasing globalisation of the retail supply chain. He has made successful appointments of nationals in France, Germany, Italy and Australia and of ex-pats in China, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, The Philippines and Morocco.

A graduate of Surrey and Warwick Universities, Lorne began his career with British Steel and The Tetley Group.

He is a keen and active sportsman.

Ken Patton BA

Originally a candidate and then a client of Lorne’s, Ken joined Carew Smith International in 1999 and has successfully developed international business and an interim management practice.

Ken has been on the main board of a £700m Apparel conglomerate, the Chief Executive of a Textile business, a globally
recognised branded
company within the
Leisure industry and
a Furniture manufacturer
and has over 20 years’
experience of managing
offshore businesses all
round the world.
